Faith Groups
We are created for community and thrive when that community is born and nourished from the life of the Church. Faith Groups are a tangible opportunity for our parishioners to grow in their faith and connect with one another. A Faith Group is an intentional gathering for adults, of all ages and stages, who meet to connect and grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and one another.
Lent Faith Groups
- Audito Divina. Learn how you can apply the practice of lectio divina, which is reflecting on the Word of God, to your favorite songs and hymns. Thursday mornings Feb. 19-March 26 after the 8:00 Mass until 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Parish Hall. Facilitated by Christa Hoyland and Mary Chris Rodden. Coffee and light breakfast provided. Booklet recommended but not required (Cost: $4+).
- Precious Blood Study. Read and discuss the book The Most Precious Blood of Jesus to learn about this devotion and how to pray the chaplet. Mondays March 9-30, 10-11 a.m., in St. Catharine Hall at Sacred Heart. Cost: $6. Facilitated by Diane McCue.
- Stations of the Cross. Participate in the Friday evening Stations of the Cross and stay for a 30-minute small-group discussion afterward. Way of the Cross meditations will rotate among the Stations of Hope, Mary’s Way of the Cross, and traditional. Held at Sacred Heart Fridays Feb. 20-March 6 and at St. Augustine March 13-27 at 6:00 p.m. Discussion facilitated by Celina Acosta. No cost.
- WNPG, short for Wednesday Night Prayer Group, an ongoing Faith Group, is always open to new participants. Learn about different prayer forms and devotions and how to pray with them as well as pray for our parish, community, and world at large. Wednesdays after the 5:30 p.m. Mass except the first Wednesday, which is Family Holy Hour. Start any time. Facilitated by Dorothy Kelly. No cost.
Teen Bible Study
Teen Bible Study: First, third and fifth Sundays of the month after the 10 a.m. Sunday morning Mass .
